Speaker Placement - Frequent Placement Changes?

Curious about members and the frequency of speaker placement changes. Do you frequently explore or do you “set it and forget it”?

This includes toe-in, rake, distance from walls and main listening position (MLP), etc.

I find myself revisiting every few months, and always receiving an education about my not-so-perfect acoustic living environment - bass null about 12” in front of MLP for example.

Hopefully, in the not too distant future AI will be able to give you exact placement advice, and then we can all live in a set it and forget it world. Spent way too much time because of my ignorance trying to figure out where my speakers need to be. I have limited space So at least that keeps me in check from messing around too much.

Typically I will experiment when the speakers are new. Then a year or two later… verify / fine tune… then not touch for years.

100% relatable and totally me. Interestingly enough, as of late I don’t mind playing around with placement - and that’s with IsoAcoustic Gaia’s underneath the speakers which make placement changes a huge pain.

My listening room doubles as the family living room, so per the chief decorator/love of my life, the speakers reside shoved too far into the corners....I try to sneak them out a few inches here or there when she’s not looking, but they typically stay in what I consider a "plan B"...an un-optimized, but acceptable situation.  Once in a while I get to pull them out where they belong and let them breath, and I’m always amazed what a difference it makes to the soundstage.

If they weren't so heavy, and it didn't take me so long to tweak the final angles and adjustments when I move them, I'd pull them out more often when she's out of the house.
