Second Round of Questions on Speaker Cables

Following up on a post of a couple months ago. Running Audience AU24SE cables but looking for something with more "body" if such a thing exists. But I do love the open, airy and even frequency balance of the Audience. A buddy runs Cardas cables and loves them but Audience not so much. So I was asking what else besides my Audience. Two answers were in the majority:

Stick with what you like, Audience, but go up in the range. Or, try Cardas.

So went for with AU24SX and really like them. Better than the SEs, maybe a bit more body.

Then tried the Cardas Clear Reflections. What I find is an emphasis with the mids and upper bass. Great for music with an emphasis on vocals maybe, but for my wide-ranging likes of rock, jazz, and occasional vocal-centric music, just not right with that lower-end emphasis.

FWIW, Bryston amp, Spatial Audio and Rogue pres, Sopras.

So still looking but not sure where to go next. I realize I'm being a little vague, but there's so many other options out there and it's impossible to try them all. Open to suggestions.

Thanks.

The maker of highly praised DALI speakers:
This isn’t about the “sound” of the cable, but rather whether it’s doing its job properly.

McIntosh Labs, a maker of high-end audio, has a similar assertion on their site.

It's hard to argue with the masters of the craft.

I was a tried and true SR cable guy and still run their Atmosphere level 4 IC's.  I had Atmosphere Level 4 speaker cables which are the predecessor to the Euphoria SX 3's.  On a whim, I bought a pair of Silversmith Fideliums simply after watching a you tube review....they absolutely smoked the Level 4's and as an added benefit, about 20% of the cost.  I have found the blend of Fidelium  SC and SR IC's to have great synergy.  Have been off the cable search for 3 years now and still no desire to change.

Good listening

@ionna22

I would not dare to discuss a topic I do not fully understand.

+1  After 20+ years of hands-on experience with cable auditioning & upgrading, I’ve learned and apprecated the value of adding quality cabling to improve a system’s SQ.

I am glad to see my comments sparkled such a discussion. Hopefully some folks will now have a desire to learn more about acoustics.

Huh?  You joined AudiogoN 3 weeks ago.  Everything about audio is what AudiogoN members have been discussing for the last 25 years.  The forum archives have accumulated a wealth of audio knowledge since its inception in 1999.    Here’s a sample search.

It’s hard to argue with the masters of the craft.

Indeed!   These engineers have devoted their careers to their craft.   Audio enthusiasts around the world have benefitted from their efforts.

Bybee Technologies – Founded by Jack Bybee – Physicist

Jack Bybee’s first commercial products emerged from Cold War-era military-industrial research. The stealthy shadow contest of nuclear submarine detection, location and evasion demanded ever-quieter circuits, lower electronic noise and greater signal-to-noise ratios. Practitioners summed up the problem as: “reducing 1/f noise, from DC to 2000hz”.

Bybee’s technology involves exotic blends of rare-earth metals or their isotopes to reduce electronic noise in circuits. In the mid-1990s, Bybee’s AC filtering was among the first of its kind to use exotic doped materials instead of transformers or balanced power, which made it a novel concept at the time.

Jack’s science and physicist background gave him the understanding about negative effects of quantum noise. Link here.

@steakster Wow. Good job. I really stepped on some toes promoting laws of physics.
Sorry for that.
