Actually, I want something that sounds really good AND supports the streaming services that I use. The weak point of many high end streamers, in my opinion, is their operating systems!
Thoughts on Eversolo T-8
I have been using a Bluesound Node, most recent model, as a streamer with a Chord Hugo TT-2. With a limited budget I am considering the Eversolo T-8 as a streamer transport. Has anyone either listened to, or own one? If so what are your thoughts and anyone have suggestions in the under 2000.00 threshold as a standalone alone streamer transport?

@calieng Did you have an upgraded LPS with your Node Icon? That’s very interesting about the Holo Red — does that have an LPS and how’s the app with that? |
The Bluesound Icon was stock. It is just a spare all in one unit I have whenever I need a source for testing some other gear. Yes the Holo Audio Red has built in LPS and the CNC aluminum case is cut to encase it for shielding. You can run Volumio or Ropieee but also as Holo Red software. It is totally bare bones but sounds amazing. Simpler is better. I have one set to dedicated Tidal Connect feeding a Holo Cyan 2 via I2S and it competes with anything else I have. Another Red is on order to replace the Eversolo T8 I returned today. |
As your next upgrade, I would recommend switching to Qobuz. Streamers are designed to get the maximum fidelity from a streaming service, so they only support high quality well established ones. Qobuz is pretty universally accepted as the best. By doing this you will increase the sound quality of your system and open yourself to world of high end streamers should you want to go there.. |
Well these threads cann be funny. I think you here about failures for Eversolo, is because they sell so many. What is the percentage of failure ? Also I have read about people liking the T8 over the Holo Red ? So really you have to take a consensus from many to truly evaluate a best guess, as that is all it is a guess. |
