Thoughts on Eversolo T-8

I am currently using a Bluesound Node 2i moded with a TeddyPardo LPS.  I have a T8 on order.  The Bluesound is feeding a PS Audio Directstream DAC Mk1 moded by APS Transformers.  I've been wanting to upgrade my streamer for some time,  and have considered Lumin and Aurender.  However,  neither supports the streaming services that I use,  Amazon Music HD and Idagio.  I will do direct comparisons between the Bluesound and the T8 when I get it,  and will post the results.  Soundstage and imaging are my hot buttons! The rest of my system is a PS Audio Stellar Gold Preamp,  PS Audio M700 monoblocks,  and Legacy Audio Signature SE speakers. 

The Eversolo T8 is better than the Bluesound Node Icon USB out as a streamer. I would say noticeably better. (I compared the Bluesound for several hours as well).

My prior post was that the Holo Audio Red ($950) I2S out was better than the Eversolo ($1350) I2S out and noticeably so. The Eversolo sounds slightly veiled in comparison and as I said losses some fine detail as a result.

It's a trade off - do you want something with a fun screen or something that sounds better.

Actually,  I want something that sounds really good AND supports the streaming services that I use.  The weak point of many high end streamers,  in my opinion,  is their operating systems!

@calieng  Did you have an upgraded LPS with your Node Icon?  That’s very interesting about the Holo Red — does that have an LPS and how’s the app with that?

The Bluesound Icon was stock. It is just a spare all in one unit I have whenever I need a source for testing some other gear.

Yes the Holo Audio Red has built in LPS and the CNC aluminum case is cut to encase it for shielding. You can run Volumio or Ropieee but also as Holo Red software. It is totally bare bones but sounds amazing. Simpler is better.

I have one set to dedicated Tidal Connect feeding a Holo Cyan 2 via I2S and it competes with anything else I have. Another Red is on order to replace the Eversolo T8 I returned today.
