mclinnguy: there's a pair of cables I have my eyes on. And a bargain at just $50,000.
Are those the same ones Mozart used to do the voicing on Requiem K626?
Streaming questions
I have finally given in to pressure and decided to start streaming. I joined Qobuz and have started putting together a playlist which I assume will be no problem to play in my car with the Qobuz app. I would appreciate some recommendations for the streaming device that I will use with my home system. My gear is midfi: Revel Performa3 206, and Rega Elix-r integrated. When I get the streaming device how do I get it to play my playlist which I generated on my Mac? I am completely clueless as to how this all works. Greatly appreciate your help. Thanks
Honestly, buy a streamer. Set a budget, figure out what kind of sonic profile you are looking for, what kind of software do you want to use? How easy/complex do you want it? I have a Cambridge Audio streamer, it's on the warmer side, matching my other gear. I do not use the CA app, I use Tidal on my phone to control the streamer, but the stream is running on the streamer and not my phone. Using the streamer DAC, as that is the only digital device in my system. |
I’ve used both Bluesound and the Wiim and Wiim definitely worked better, more stable and reliable. The Bluesound updates several times were problematic. Never a problem with Wiim. Btw @heirofmozart I almost exclusively listen to classical and one problem with Qobuz, and many other streaming services, is the software. It’s all designed for popular and struggles with classical. Apple Music Classical has a far better search engine. I have found dozens of albums on Apple that I could not find on Qobuz, even though Qobuz carries them. |
