You could have a room node that is at ear height that could cause those types of differences.
Speaker height...should known better

You don't need math or theory--find the right tilt by trial and error. It is NOT the case that all speakers are meant to be heard directly on the tweeter access. Many are voiced differently, and in any case, any particular listener might prefer something other than the manufacturer's recommendation. |
@larryi +1 |
@larryi + 1 - my Marten Parker Duos are a case in point; those are designed to be on high stands, with the tweeter quite a bit over ear level, which is more along the axis of the middle of he lower speaker. Never seen one designed like it, but it sure does work.... |
@larryi Yes, you are right. I could just use trial and error with the tilt but for information purposes, it couldn't hurt to know mathematical portion of it. Yes many speakers are voiced differently and that is why many people have different opinions on how a speaker sound say on a same model. Factors like acoustics, sitting position, sources, etc all play come into play. Most of it has been corrected at the moment for me and now with this new tweak, not to mention it was free, made a HUGE difference. |
