Quick Eversolo T8 Review

After relying on an iPhone using the camera adapter to allow for hi-rez streaming (did this for literally years), I broke down and ordered the new Eversolo T8, which arrived today. This is connected to a Bifrost 2/64 dac. Set up was effortless with no problems at all: connected to wi-fi, mirrored to my iPhone using the EversoloConnect app, chose all of my settings, and began listening to Qobuz via Qobuz Connect phone app all within 20 minutes of unboxing. It is an absolutely beautiful device, and man does it sound fantastic. This streamer is badass...highly, highly recommended.

I received a reply from the distributor Forte who confirmed that they do have a repair facility and said that I could get my out of warranty DMP-A6 repaired there by having the motherboard replaced. This is very promising. I think Eversolo is getting serious about providing more support to US customers. Strange though zidoo never mentioned about Forte when I inquired directly about repair. I will decide tomorrow whether to send the motherboard to China or send the entire unit to Forte.

Looking for recommendations on the Eversolo A8 or T8. What are the differences between A8 and T8. I am new to the streaming but looking to get something that will sound good with my MAC7200, which I just purchased about a month ago. Thank you ahead of time for any recommendations and advice.

@sr71_17974 Hi, Larry...

The DMP-A8 is a streaming DAC with analog outputs. The T8 is a streaming transport with solely digital outputs. If you’re not specifically seeking to use your own (separate external) DAC, the DMP-A8 will serve your purpose. If you have a DAC of your own preference, the T8 will likely serve better. There are other features/factors as well. For example, DMP-A8 has ARC input, so if you’re integrating movie/show streaming into the same audio setup, you’ll want the DMP-A8 since it has ARC input. It also has coaxial and optical S/PDIF inputs so you can attach, say, a CD player. The T8 does not have any digital inputs; it is designed to maximize performance as a streaming transport and leaves other functionality off the table to minimize potential for noise/interference.

Well I decided to go the route of getting my DMP-A6 repaired by Forte.  They are very nice people and if this experience goes well, I am likely to buy my T8 from them as well.  I want to thank @tyray for his post mentioning Forte. Otherwise I never would have found out that they do service as well.  I am much more likely to buy an Eversolo product now there is US based service. I will wait a little until there are a but more reviews and comparisons before getting the T8. I am posting these and spreading the word so that Eversolo owners can have a good repair option.
