Older Luxman L-505UX (Not the II)

Hello, I have been searching for a used Luxman for some time to pair for my Spendor A7s, gave up and have a Naim Supernait 3 on order.   However, a used Luxman L-505uX (not the II version) is now available and I have to the opportunity to buy this one as well.   I can try them both and return one of them.   Before I go through that, I thought I would ask this group if anybody has thoughts of buying an older Luxman like this L-505uX (being sold by a reputable reseller, The Music Room)?   I have sent serial number to Luxman USA requesting the manufatured year but haven't yet heard back.   Thanks!  Dave

I love Luxman. I have a Lux R-1120A receiver built in 1977, that thing is a beauty, a Lux E-250 phono stage that completely changes my vinyl listening experience, and I just bought a Lux DA-200 DAC/headphone amplifier, and a Lux PD-121 turntable with an SME 3009 tonearm. That beauty arrives in its original box (the tonearm is also in its original box) fully serviced this week. I think this company over delivers at everything they make. I say grab that amp!

Enjoy!  You can’t go wrong with a Luxman integrated amp.  Both Luxman and Accuphase make wonderful integrated amps built to last and outlive us all.

Hello Chapin99, I did end up buying the Luxman 505 UX and love it.  Current system is the 505 UX, Chord Qutest DAC, Cambridge Audio MXN10 Streamer, and Spendor A7s.   I'm enjoying this very much.   Only comparison I have made to the Luxman is a Musical Fidelity m5si, which is a solid amplifier.    The m5si seemed to have a bit more grunt but the Luxman has more clarity (and not really lacking any muscle at all).    Great amp!    Interesting to see what others have paired their Luxmans with.
