Forget MC at that price (not aware of any) and beware of used MC cartridges. Too many scams.

I recommend the Grado Black, but if your turntable hums, it will pick up the hum.

I also recommend the Audio-Technica VM95E and VM95EN, but you have to follow the manufacturer’s capacitance recommendations. Don’t understand all the praise for the 95C.

In my estimation, the Nagaoka MP-110 is quite good for the price.

Many people hate the Ortofon 2M Red, but I’ve listened to it with a wide variety of equipment and consider it a bargain. Don’t know what they’re hearing.

I don’t recommend the Goldring E3 at $189. (way too much treble for my tastes), and as such I consider it overpriced since I’d rather have an Audio-Technica VM95E, VM95EN, Nagaoka MP-110, Ortofon 2M Red, or Grado Black, all of which cost less.

I don't have your preamp, speakers, room or ears though, so I have no idea what you'll hear.

I forgot, my friend had hum, and it turned out to be the Grado cartridge that he somehow got. Steve Leung mentioned to him that Grado’s sometimes hum, that’s how he found it.

He went to AT540ML, loves it, but it’s $280.

I have a Grado Mono, no hum in my setup luckily.

If you stretch the budget just a little, you can get into an AT-VM95EN with the nude elliptical profile.
