First Watt SIT 5 matched with Devore O Babys

Because of hearing aids I need to warm up my system. Currently driving my O Babys with Atmasphere D class amps. Need a lot more warmth and thinking First Watt  SIT 5s might be the trick. Any thoughts welcome

There’s a really nice pair of Pass XA60.5s on US Audio Mart.

Just saying…

Do you have a tubed preamp? If not, then you may want to start there for more warmth.

I’ve got the O/Babies, and bass seems pretty good.  How many hours on yours?  It takes a while for things to loosen up, and caps to burn in.  If time doesn’t help, consider subs.

Pass amps are among the most tube like sounding solid state amps because they use no feedback which results in a low damping factor like tube amps. Low damping factor is a significant part of warm tube amp sound and low feedback results in higher harmonic and IM distortion also like tube amps. And the Pass SIT amps are the most tube like of Pass amps because SITs are like a solid state version of a triode tube, the most linear way to run tubes. It seems like the Pass SIT amp could be what you are looking for. But like any audio purchase you it's best to audition it first which is difficult for a Pass First Watt amp.

I am currently breaking in a set of DeVore O/93 and they are super easy to drive.  The FirstWatt amps I have heard when driving higher efficiency speakers like the DeVores (most recently a (Sit 5) sounded somewhat frenetic and overly fast paced and relatively neutral.

What preamp will you be using?

How many hours on the speakers?

How are your speakers positioned relative to back and side walls?
