I'd like some recommendations for speaker cables

"I am using Blue Jean cables for my whole system not a real expensive cable sounds good to me but my friend Kevin daily tells me to get Kimber Kables, this is every day badgering..anyone have thoughts on this, can you really hear any difference?..actually was going to buy some Kimber kables today to get Kevin off my back but watched a 5 yr old YouTube with Gene at Audioholics who compared Blue Jean to Kimber could not hear a difference…anyone have any thoughts?"

Gene is a nice guy, but when it comes to certain things, he runs on pure emotions, and makes absolutely no sense. He's always talking about science but does the exact opposite. For example, he made a 5 part video series on a pair of AudioQuest cables. He never listened to them. When you review a product, does it make sense to not use it in its indented application? 5 videos on the same pair of cables and he didn't use them. Assuming a buyer can afford the cables, a purchase decision will be made based on listening performance 100% of the time. 

If you really want to see something incredible, go on youtube and do a search for Audioholics vs Synergistic Research. Gene and Ted from SR have been arguing back and forth for years. There's something about SR that drives Gene crazy, and Ted had enough. The video is an offer that Ted made for Gene. As far as I know, no one has ever made an offer even remotely close to Ted's. Gene turned him down. For years, cable deniers have been demanding things like this, and the first time they get exactly what they've been asking for, they run.

I own two Veritas "Praesto" power cords and they can out perform cables well above their price point. In fact, they replaced power cords three to more than four times their cost. Haven’t tired their interconnects yet, but may at some point. I just have other priorities now. 

The company offers a 30-day return policy, so  what have you got to lose?

Another recommendation for Veritas.  Fantastic cables for a reasonable price.  I own their top of the line Aperta SE speaker cables and after a few hundred hours  of break-in hours they are top notch.  You do have to be patient through the break- in period as they do change throughout that time.  I also own their top of the line IC’s, USB, ethernet and power cords.  Could’t be happier with my decisions.  Veritas is so easy to work with and they will extend you 30 day trial period as needed especially for the Aperta SE speaker cables which take many hours to settle in and come alive.  

Its hard to try every cable company out there, I started out with pretty cheap cables, quickly moved up to reference level due to the wild limitations on sound with cheaper cables, the veil effect

A great cable is transparent reference cable, from what I remember and pretty flexible cable

Eventually, I upgraded to NBS 'black label' cables, for all components, power cables and speakers, and sold my transparent cables on audiogon

NBS are great, never needed to think about another company, one caveat, they don't bend well, its a struggle to get them in a tight space 

Once you start replacing older equipment with reference quality, helps to find the weaker components in your system, by comparison, especially with a good return policy from your local high end store, which is nice
