Power cables of your choice, and why?

After receiving a few responses to this, I'll include what I use in my systems.

@sfpeloton sure. I used Furutech power cords for probably about 1 year or so. They are good cables but they have their own sound that I grew tired off. I’d say it’s an artificial coloration of high frequencies that, to me, sticks out and doesn’t sound natural. Keep in mind that I used Furutech rhodium connectors and that probably was as much of a contributing factor if not more than the cables themselves. Overall they sound pleasant, detailed and do a  nice job of reducing the overall noise floor.
Combined with Furutech GTX-D NCF outlets the effect is even more pronounced.
It’s all system dependent so don’t let my comments discourage you from trying these cables.

My favorite Furutech power cable is DPS-4.1 and it works equally well on digital and analog as well as amps.
As a side note I tried Furutech DSS-4.1 speaker cables and didn’t like them.

@audphile1 Thank you for the information. Hopefully, in my system the artificial coloration will be less prominent. Should at least be an interesting experiment. I will consider it a success if I hear clear differences.

@audphile1  Same camp with Furutech DPS-4.1 and GTX-D NCF outlets.  There is a synergy and energy with that combo.  Like breathing oxygen into the organism.  You are correct, digital and analogue benefit equally.  Fun stuff.

@sfpeloton yes definitely try. One really cool thing if you DIY is to swap connectors. The FI-50 NCF Rhodium are the best R connectors in the furutech line. But I think, depends on the overall sound signature you’re looking for, the gold plated connector options are worth exploring in some cases.

Have fun!

I use the power cables that come with my equipment because power cables don’t change the sound.

Some audiophiles will tell you that the reason that a audiophile grade, expensive ones, power cable does not make a difference is because your system is not good enough.  If I were a dealer or a cable designer, I will tell you the same thing.  Hey, everyone needs to make a living.

I am NOT saying the stock PC is fine.  I am saying the effect of PC on SQ is not as dramatic as that of IC, digital or speaker cable and does not need to that expensive.  Spend your money wisely elsewhere it truly matters for the sound.
