Most listened to artist

If you had to guess, which 10 artists have you listened to the most in your lifetime?

Meaning every time you've selected a particular artist's 8-Track, Cassette, LP and CD at home, in your car, at a party, at the beach, wherever.

Mine, in no particular order, would be: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Kinks, XTC, Elvis Costello, Kate Bush, King Crimson, David Bowie, Brand X.

bzawa

Bowie

Devo

Japan

Bandcamp Indie Electronic Ambient

Chris & Cosey / Throbbing Gristle

Classical via FM radio

Pink Floyd

Kaelan Mikla

and in-between... hippie music, old Jazz, new wave, punk, post punk, EBM, Dark wave    :)

A lifetime includes, for me, a fair amount of ground

Early years: Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Trogs, The Animals.

60's-70's: All bands referred to as "classic rock" today (extensively listed above), including The Guess Who. Blue Oyster Cult.

80's: Clash, UB40, Pretenders, Prince, REM, Replacements, Talking Heads, Graham Parker, E. Costello, Michael Hedges, X, Los Lobos.

90's: U2, Beck, Radiohead, Blur.

2,000's on: Iron & Wine, Kurt Vile, PJ Harvey,

From the 70's on (hats off to mahgister), Bach rules supreme.

If one were asked to name one musician who came closest to composing without human flaw, I suppose general consensus would choose Johann Sebastian Bach...

- Aaron Copland

Thanks a lot for this quote i did not knew...

How in the world did I leave Eno, Genesis/Gabriel and Talking Heads off my list.

And how about a slot for the prog-like bands: Yes, ELP, Gentle Giant, Caravan, Soft Machine, Robert Wyatt, Henry Cow, Happy the Man, Fred Frith, Pink Floyd, Art Bears, Crimson/Fripp/Belew, Jethro Tull, Art Zoyd, Present, Univers Zero, Mahavishnu Orchestra ..sorry, I got carried away. There's just so much music!
