Help in the Boston area

Hi community, I got a hit for a wanted post I made on some rare high end equipment (a pre-amp) in the Boston area. I could use some help locally (I don't live nearby) for some eyes and ears on this because it seems to give me a scam vibe. I'm happy to pay you for your time and travel costs, gas, etc. Thanks, Adam

Wonder if the guy really is reallybased in Boston? Makes you want to have ICE HiFi branch to go get em!

Good thing you found out it was a scam before you went too far.  If it sounds too good to be true it usually is in my experience buying and selling equipment online.  I live in the Boston area and only meet people in a public place when I’m selling equipment.  I’ve been in several people’s residences buying equipment which is always something I’m cautious about too.  You can’t be too careful.  I’ve met some great people with this hobby but also interacted with some not so great too.  Be well.

There is a person who lists a lot of vintage gear on CL out of Newtonville, a precinct of Newton.   I wonder if it's the same guy.  

I'm also in Boston and I'll meet in public as well.  Never any issues.   My last sale I actually went to the buyers house so he could listen to speakers.  I knew about 10 seconds in I wasn't going home with them.
