I am posting something very interesting by a modern genius and it will give you an introduction to Krystian Zimmerman's playing, if you have not heard it. He is ranked up with all these other great performers.

Thanks. Zimmerman Brahms concerto no 2 is my favorite piano concerto because it is for me the essence of an era and nobody i listen to surpass Zimmerman playing here ... But the pianist in Bernstein work here is not Zimmerman ...

Sorry about posting the wrong pianist in Bernstein. The Record I have at home has Zimmerman playing and I thought that was what I was posting. It has a very interesting introduction with Bernstein talking about the symphony and what his goal was in writing it. If you like Brahms' 2nd Piano concerto, let me recommend Geza Anda with Frenec Fricsay conducting. I own the recording of Rubenstein and it never really moved me. But Geza Anda and Fricsay brought it to life for me. |
I will listen to Geza Anda ... It is my favorite concerto... But if you hear Zimmerman you will understand why it is extraordinary and my best one..
