VPI Signature 21 Lubricate
I want lubricate my new Signature 21 TT after some use, so would like know about lubricate type.
Bearing: is any white Lithium grease with PTFE, or Super Lube 21030 grease good as VPI Magic Lube?
Motor: is any multi purpose oil (PTFE or no) would do the job, such Super Lube 60016 or 51004, or 51010, … ?

I just re-lubed my VPI HW-19 MKIII, which I bought new in 1986. I usually do this about ever other year. Since I am a cyclist and always have it on hand for my bicycles, I have always used Phil Woods grease. You can get this at any bicycle shop or from Amazon or from Nashbar. It is a very high quality, waterproof grease specifically for low rpm bearings like bicycle wheels. This year I took the bearing sleeve assembly apart for a more thorough cleaning and inspection than usual. Everything looks like new. The turntable still performs and sounds like new. Let's get real with the grease already. There is no better grease than Phil Woods for this purpose. |
