Isolation footers for ATC SCM100A

I just purchased a used pair of ATC 100A speakers, and they come with the manufacturer’s iron OEM stands.  On my current pair of ATC 40 towers, I’m using Herbie’s threaded Stud Glider footers for decoupling.

I’m considering using the Stud Gliders with the 100s, tapping thread holes into the stand bottoms, and perhaps also employing sorbothane pads where the speakers contact the stands.

Does that sound like a reasonable approach?  Or would there be an alternate way to use the Herbie’s footers?  Any advice welcome.

thanks. After talking to Townshend rep, I ordered S2 with D-load cells for my standmount classic 50’s. Looking forward to testing them out. Cheers

Thanks to all for sharing your experiences.  Very useful info.

After a few weeks with my old Herbie's Giant Gliders installed, I'm happy with the low end response in the room.  The mid-bass/bass is relatively free of resonances, and the speakers are sounding very musical.

On the cable front, perhaps I'm 'listening with my eyes', but I've decided to purchase Cardas Clear Power cables for my 100As.  I've had good results with Cardas gear previously.  Even if it's just ticking that box, I think it's worth the (over?)spend to give the system every chance of performing to it's utmost abilities.
