My dad’s shop. He had a Tandberg R2R and had copied a friend’s LP. Blasted it all day long. My dad turned me on to a lot of great music. I can still remember sweeping up the floor playing air guitar with the broom.
Where were you when you first heard ""Born To Run"?
It was 1975. I was on the floor of my childhood home listening to Syracuse University college radio station, WAER, on my Pioneer Sx-737 tuner. I was blown away from start to finish.
Prior to that release, music critic Jon Landau was quoted, "I saw rock and roll future, and its name is Bruce Springsteen".

Junior high school in Brooklyn. I thought the album was great, listened to it on a portable vinyl grainy ’leather’ covered stereo record player with two detachable speakers in my room. Still think Jungleland and She’s The One are the best tracks. In fact, just last night I heard She’s The One on a rock and roll station at 89.1 out of New Jersey and it’s still an exciting record that makes you reach for the volume. I really came onboard with Darkness. That was my favorite Springsteen album for a long time. I’m partial to Tunnel of Love These Days |

@howardlee could you define a bit about what post you are talking about? And if it was mine, I do remember sitting on the floor in my basement hearing the news that Kennedy was shot. How does hearing a popular rock song become tied in with a murder of a president? |
