The Cable Company advice?

Anyone have experience (good/bad/meh) with consultation advice from The Cable Company?

I asked for a recommendation for 8’ speaker cables from a $20k integrated to $35k speakers. Their reply was a long pitch about their lending library. When I asked for a specific recommendation they suggested a $750 pair of cables. When I replied that my budget was $2,500 to $5k with some specifics about air, soundstage, bass clarity, etc. they suggested one step up the line to a $1,500 pair.

Considering all the high priced cables they offer I was surprised and a little skeptical.

Does anyone have experience with them to share?

Seriously folks, a free lending library is pretty remarkable. Everyone on this board has a completely different combination of components, stop being so lazy and critical , do your own research and use their services for what they are.

I've gotten good advice for the Cable Company and their lending library makes a lot of sense to me. The fact that they're advising you purchase a cable less than your budget is a good thing, no? Usually it's the other way around.

I have bought several cables (IC, power) from The Cable Company. Never disappointed. I worked with Jason Ritter, now their President and then salesman. He pointed me to modestly priced products that punched way above their price point. His encyclopedic knowledge of HiFi is a resource I am grateful to be able to access.

My hats off to The Cable Company for making its President someone who worked there and has an intimate knowledge of the firms' day-to-day operation, passion for audio, and integrity. Let's reward that. Better any day than a company led by an MBA whose expertise lies in marketing or finance.
