CD's or Vinyl?

Gun to your head, if you could only pick one, which would you choose.  As nostalgic and sublime as Vinyl can be I think I'd have to go with Cd's.  Just seems cleaner and more pristine to me.

And You?

I just watched a YouTube review of a new Maxell portable cassette player. You already know how that went. I was really hoping to play my new Peter Murphy cassette on it.

I found a,place that has cds 3 for 2 bucks....forget vinyl....I'm in cd heaven...come on.

I remember getting a screaming deal on a K&E bamboo slide rule (it was expensive and the gold standard) a few days after Texas Instruments released the SR-50 calculator. I enjoyed the next few days...  until I found out about the calculator... it’s been in my drawer for over fifty-five years.

Vinyl is final for the best sound staging. that being said I have a killer analog setup with Sota Cosmos Eclipse vacuum table, SME V with Koestsu Jade all running through tube pre and amps. Cd's or the Aurender to me are for back ground music not critical listening. IMHO

I agree with regards to vinyl imaging is better than CD or 16/44.1.

But with regards to 24/192 or especially quad DSD, that is not the case, Those higher resolutions  are as good or better, than than vinyl when it comes to imaging and soundstage.
