Steely Dan albums
Also, I really like their last two albums. Yes, I am a huge fan.

Two Against Nature was among my first RSD purchases. I appreciate the sound of the LP more than the CD, despite the very ugly pressing quality. I would open this one if you have it to save it from the sandpaper inside.
I miss scarcity
I’ve been on a deep dive analyzing how I came to like the music in my life, looking at how I became aware of it and why it mattered at the time. I know what I like and I like what I know.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
Yes - Relayer, Monarch (I haven't heard a good CD yet) ELP - Pictures at an Exhibition, Richmond. I just picked up this bin worn but apparently unplayed copy for 5 bucks. Been a long time coming hearing this one.

September’s here again. This year’s fall colors coincide with an abundance of mountain chickadees to the neighborhood. And boy do they love a conversation. Finishing each other’s sentences is particularly interesting. They chop things up like slan...

Yes - Drama (Monarch) I wish the heavy metal introduction carried through the entire record. It took me a long time to hear this record. Kind of like the elephant in the room. I'm glad I waited to hear first on vinyl. It's growing on me.   Trans...
Whats playing on your system today?
Genesis - A Trick of the Tail (1976 Atco Monarch). This thing is long and holds up pretty well.

I learned a lot about sound from Tyll. I hope he's doing well in his new life on the road and away from foam heads. I spent a lot of time chasing headphones until I found one that I have stuck with for a long time now, thanks to his research. It's...
Jazz for aficionados
ISO Art Ensemble of Chicago recommendations. I had the great fortune of finding an outstanding copy of Nice Guys at a thrift store and boy did it kick my butt back into jazz appreciation.
Whats playing on your system today?
Patrick O'Hearn - El Dorado. O'Hearn used to fill the airwaves with Rivers Gonna Rise tracks, usually in shopping malls. Great discs to test your system with.

About half of what the lesser goldfinch sings is mimicked. I have a large audience who visit me every day and we jam.
Wasted Years.
One can appreciate both the means and the ends. One cannot exist without the other.

For now, the birds are teaching me guitar.
