@m-db that’s good info you provided. I used ARC Genesis and PBK. On JL I did professional in home mini-dsp as well as DARO bypassing the mini-dsp to compare. The ML setup crushed the JL one. And we’re talking a 3-4k setup vs like 11k. It was shocking yet I know we did the setup correctly and I did it again and again to confirm.
JL Audio hifi subwoofer match for my system
My McIntosh MA8950 is connected to a pair of Sonus faber Olympica Nova IIIs in a 3000 cubic foot listening room where I listen mainly to jazz and classical music. I am considering a pair of JL Audio e112 subwoofers.
Please comment on whether those subwoofers are sufficient for the size of my listening room, and are a good match for my system.

I'm preparing to add 2 to my Wilson Watt/Puppy's using the Wilson ActivXO crossover, but this is the first I'm hearing this level of disappointment in them. Is there a majority opinion on here that JL arent as good as many subs 1/3 their price?

@inthesticks I had asked people on here about JL Fathoms and was told by so many people to not do it due to poor build quality. I always wanted JL and etc and did it anyway. Wow, what a waste of my money. 1 was dead on arrival and buzzing, the other one could not get dialed nicely despite using REW and professional integration. Thankfully my dealer worked with me to return them. My Martin Logan Dynamos pair perfect. Sometimes cost isn’t the end all for a system. |
