An update.

I bought a pair of these, got them last weekend. I am extremely impressed. The professionals reviews were all pretty good, but the word on the street is that they are overpriced when compared to the Linton or Super Linton. Most of the speculation in forums was from people that never heard the Dovedale, so that can be discounted.

Build quality is excellent and what you’d expect for the price. They do all the audiophile tricks, but are very easy to listen to and don’t shove the detail at you. Tonally very rich, but at the same time very extended on the top and bottom.

These shouldn’t be flying under the radar.

"Overpriced" is reality of just about anything, so as long as you likem-to heck with everyone else. 

They look/read like a nice traditional build speaker. I liked the Linton sound, so I bet they sound  great. The linked videos show them well out into the room-the way I like to place speakers.

Knowing what we know, perhaps X'over circuit is where  a GR Research tweaking could take them to next level? 

Maybe best to resist the neverending audiophool game and just enjoy them.

I bought them used, so I didn’t pay full price. I know the 7k price point is pretty crowded with good speakers, but I certainly think they are contenders even at retail.
