I have three of these.( older units I’ve had for a while.) Two I use on my H/T system. One on my computer. 

As for the H/T audio system the SPD does require some burn-in time. My guess is, it’s because of the filtering circuitry.

In regards to Isobar surge protectors, I stand corrected... but!! It seems that this was a change I was not aware of.  My bad for not keeping current. 

Based on help from ChatGPT, it seems Isobar models around 2015 did NOT have the shutdown feature, but Wirecutter by 2022 is praising them for including them. 

So thank you for the correction, and if you have older Isobar models you might want to check the specific model number against the product manual.  

Even so, you might want to consider the Tripp Lite TLP1008TEL as a better alternative because of it’s lower let through voltage according to Wirecutter. 

Those $50 units are really hard to say no to, but for anything audio the extra $110 for the Furman PST-8 should be considered. 

FWIW, I bought my Tripp Lite ISOBAR6 ULTRA SPD/conditioners in 2020.  They have the fuse protection. I personally would only buy new factory fresh SPD/Power Conditioner. Never used or reconditioned.            

FWIW, it should be noted that Amazon.com is not on the Furman authorized dealers list. If buying through Amazon make sure the dealer selling the Furman products on Amazon is an authorized Furman dealer.

I think the same is true for Tripp Lite / Eaton products as well.
