If in fact your unit has a heater that is nonfunctional, I would contact Isonic directly. They have good service and will either fix or repair the problem. I don't use a dryer with the Isonic so I can't help you with that problem.
Recorded Cleaning Machnies
I'm going to buy a ultra sonic record cleaning machine. I am looking seriously at the Degritter MK2 but I just found the Isonic CS6.1-Pro Record Cleaning System, which has the advantage of cleaning 10 records at a time. Anyone have any experience with either of these? Comments? I have a lot of records (like most folks reading this I suppose) so cleaning 10 records at a time is a big deal. There is a price difference, but frankly, that is not too big a deal given what I am buying here.
Yes, it has a heater, one of the settings controls the water temperature. Since I got it on Amazon with Prime, it is easier to return it and buy another one. I think I will buy it directly from iSonics. The box that arrived was seriously trashed! This is the unit I purchased: iSonic CS6.1-Pro Motorized Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaner for 10 LPs, with Filter and Spin Drying, 1.6 Gal/6L, 110V Rather than post a link that may not work for you, it is better to do a search for it on Amazon. The drying cycle is a spin dry; if the water was warm, I am sure the records would come out drier than with room temp water. However, that being said, they are dry enough after a quick wipe with the supplied cloth. |
Update: The iSonic CS6.1-Pro Motorized Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaner I bought from Amazon was sent back. I checked the iSonic website (https://isonicinc.com/) and I discovered they have a more powerful model, the iSonic CS6.2-Pro Motorized Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaner. Interestingly, they pay the freight and there was no sales tax. So, I got the bigger machine for the about same price as the lower power one on Amazon. The original one, the -1, was 45W and the new one, the -2, is 90W, otherwise they are the same. It should arrive soon. Thanks for all the advice, it was most useful! R |
