Netting Over Connectors - Do They Help?

Many premium cables come with loose netting around the connectors.

Do these actually help? Has anyone heard the difference with and without?

Know others will post anyways but will pay attention to responses from those who believe cables make a diff.

I hope you submit that question to ASR...and if this is a preview of what we can expect on April 1st, I can't wait!

I can see the confusion. Whenever you’re looking at a fancy, set up at an audio show All the cabling will have that netting over it. So to a noob, it may make one wonder why are they doing that? Take a couple ASR Articles and one could easily make that assumption it is an audio tweak.

That always reminds me of buying a pear or other fruit at the grocery store. The netting is to keep it from getting damaged. I always assumed they leave it at audio shows because they are in a rush to set up and will be taking everything back down in a few days. Also they might lose it, so keeping it on makes sense.

No comment (although I now need to visit the emergency department to have a doctor reattach my tongue).

Well, one of those thingies could be made out of fine copper screen knitted to fit, Then the forum could engage in endless arguments about whether or not a difference could be heard. The arguments alone might be worth the price of admission.
