McIntosh MCD-7009 vs Sony SCD-777es

I have an all McIntosh slime line system, and I want to upgrade from my Parasound CDP-1000. I have someone with a MCD-7009 that would obviously match the rest of the hardware for about what a Sony SCD-777 es would go for...

what to do...OR: just get a Parasound DAC..;-)

If you go for the McIntosh MCD-7009 you might feel a sense of completion with an entire Mac system. If on the other hand you feel the need to experiment with the sound of SACD audio then you know the answer to that. You could just keep the Parasound, but I have a feeling from your tread your more incline to go all Mac.
The 777ES SONY REQUIRES PERIODIC MAINTENANCE LIKE SLED MOTORS AND LASER ASSEMBLIES. SONY NO LONGER MANUFACTURERS THE PARTS AND SLED MOTORS ARE ALL GONE WITH NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE SO YOUR CHOICE IS REALLY QUITE SIMPLE. I WOULD PASS ON THE SONY AND GET THE MAC.
