Maybe it's a translation issue, but i often find 6 Moons Audio reviews exceptionally difficult reads, and don't really get much out of them. I gather that this one is a ringing endorsement of this iFi product. I currently own an AMR DP-777 and really like the hybrid tube/digital sound it produces. Thus I'm intrigued by the iFi Pro DSD, as I'd lately been thinking of trying out one of the newer R2R ladder DACs, but if I'm reading this right, it blows them out of the water. I'd be fascinated to hear more from any of you who may have (or will at some point) heard this iFi offering.
New Kid on the Block
Looks like the competiion it heating up a bit with the arrival of the iFi Pro iDSD Signature. 
It’s a DAC/Streamer Pre Amp w/headphone Amp.
Srajan at 6moons.com is getting it (if they can find a way to defeat the Wi-Fi in it since it gives him and his wife headaches). He likes it so much he’s going to replace all three DACs in his three different systems with it and that includes his Denafrips Terminator II as well.

For a US price of around $3,720 you get a DAC that can do quite a lot and still keep up with and surpass some highly regarded R2R DACs. These might be flying off the shelves come Christmas.

@cooper52 , It seems I can't add text to a video so here's the written review from Bloom Audio as well. And, here is HIFI Knights review of the preceeding model. I, too, find Sarjan's prose to be a bit much but just skim those parts for his technical take on things, which is up there with the best of the rest. All the best, Nonoise |
