Match subwoofer to Spendor S3/5?

Bought some Spendor S3/5 unheard but aware of limitations on bottom end and dynamics. Speaker is great for mid-range on acoustic jazz, female vocals, similar but curious if anyone has matched sub to it and what the impact is? Does it now work for rock, electric jazz, more dynamic stuff?

I have 3/5's and I use a M&K KX-12,it is very flexible, low and high level in and outputs,I bought it on ebay some dealer sells them for $400.00 I x it over at about 70 cycles and it is perfect.Give it a try you will not be disappointed.Good luck.
MJ accoustics blend wonderfully and are musical. They have simlar sound to the REL subs, made in England, compact, and cost less. There is a pair currently on Audiogon new for $700. Great buy. Ultra musical. Should be perfect for the 3/5 spendor.
What is the impact on the SPendor? Does the sub filter out the low frequencies and so the S3/5 can focus on the mid and upper? I am trying to decide if I am going to keep them and do the sub or just sell them and buy a larger floorstander or monitor.

I like the REL. Blends great with my harbeths and I would think it would also work well with your Spendors. Taps off your speaker outputs on your amp and you run your speakers full range.
