What drives your music and live show preference?

Does your experience at a live performance determine your music preference? Or does your music preference determine which live performances you see?

For me, I think it is the former. I prefer music that best replicates what I heard at a live performance.

I'm curious to read the opinions of others.

Buco, what drove you to judge others here?

Tosta, i get that, but I just spent $250 for a front row seat to Merle and Willie, each of whom I have seen many times.

Peace.
I think live music and commercial recorded music are two very different things. I enjoy going to concerts and I enjoy highly synthesized music as well. They don't have to be all that related for me to appreciate them for what they are.
In my mind there is a distinction between appreciation and preference. I can appreciate many different artists but definitely have a preference for only a handful.
