Toggle switch cleaning?

I have a preamp with a toggle switch for changing phase. Sometimes I lose the left channel on switching. Is this something that can be cleaned at home, simply and safely? Or can this be worn out? Thanks. Pete

Thanks guys. How do I use the air or cleaners? From the front of the switch?
You just spray the switch in both positions, and work it up and down several times, that should help it a lot.

No, not from the front. Contact cleaner won't be effective unless it reaches the contacts.

Also, if the housing of the switch is completely sealed, with no slots or other small openings, spraying it from inside the preamp won't accomplish anything either. In that situation probably all you can do is to toggle the switch up and down many times, and see if that helps. If it doesn't, the switch would probably have to be replaced.
