Where to buy fuses?

The Cable Company. They have a pretty good selection, and if you're not sure, they'll let you try a few different ones first.

If you are not looking for expensive audiophile-oriented fuses, you'll find four choices here at Digikey (scroll down to the listings). Two are fast blow and two are slow blow, with one of the slow blows being ceramic, and the other three being glass.

When last I ordered from Digikey, which is an industrial distributor of electronic parts, they had no minimum purchase requirement, although shipping may cost more than the fuses.

I suspect that Newark Electronics and Mouser Electronics would also be suitable sources.

I've bought Radio Shack fuses and never encountered a problem. My guess it's probably an isolate event with defective or mis-labeled packaging.

Radio Shack makes a damn good fuse. They used them in Chernobyl.
