wharfedale elysian 4 - break-in

Just set up a new pair of wharfedale elysian 4.

Out of the box the bass sounds boomy and the rest thin / convoluted.

This should be taken with a grain of salt.

But after break-in I would like a more controlled bass and a more open midrange and treble.

How did your pair of elysian 4 sound before and after break-in? For me break-in are at least 100 hour. It’s the drivers that need to loosen and the filter components / cables that need some juice flowing through them.

When I got my DI they were very thin sounding. But they are using professional drivers that are very stiff. They really needed a VERY long break in period.

The funny thing is that the DI bass are more controlled with two 10”. The Elysian has two 8” that are less controlled.

I have coroner bass traps from floor to ceiling and membrane bass traps at the side of the speakers.

I have the wharfedale elysian 4 for a 30 days trial.

The Elysian 4's are very good speakers, but only if you can get them at a good price.
The bass got better but in my room I will need DSP to correct room modes at 31 and 56hz.

The tweeter is the stare of the show. Super smooth and detailed.

But I think most will be happy with the Elysian 4's.

If you buy them. Then upgrade the binding posts and solder the wires to the drivers.
Open them up and you will sees why 😉

Getting better 😊

After 12 hours of low level music and four hours of very loud music 🎶 everything is starting to sound right.
will let them play every day while I am at work.
just need to hook them up to SS amp
