Thinking Jupiter

Hello all.

I'm thinking of upgrading from my original version Rega Planet to the new Rega Jupiter. Looking for more detail and definition and focus. Anyone made a similar move? Any other thoughts in CD players to achieve similar results? System consists of: Rogue Audio amplification, Meadowlark Kestrel2 speakers.

Thanks.

I have owned and know well the sound of the Planet. I recently upgraded to the Audio Aero Prima (basically the same price as the Jupiter) and it just kills the Planet in every way, in fact is is very close to as good as the Audio Aero Capitole Mk 2, which I own for another system. The Prima is one of the very best secrets out there, they are hard to find in the shops, but seemingly everyone who trys one is amazed by the value they offer.
The Cary 308 is at the top of my list. Rega's just not as exciting to me, nor is the Musical Fidelity A3.2 or Arcam. I'd like to hear the new Quad 99CDP and I'm sure there's others out there to consider. Happy listening!
I made the jump from the Planet 98 to the Jupiter 2002.
The difference was slightly more detail, more weight to the bass and overall more substance. Although I like the Jupiter, I will probably be making another jump next year to either the Audio Aero Capitole II or the EMM Labs.

I heard the Audio Aero on a few occasions and was always blown away by its eerie intimate presentation.

Good Luck...
I have the Planet. Last year I added a Birdland DAC with reclocker and am very, very happy with the results. Doesn't do SACD of course, but I love the sound the DAC added. Please let me know what you've discovered in your search for an upgrade; I'd be interested in knowing.
Thanks
