Sutherland LPS making sound thin?

I got my 20/20 LPS as a combo. I never experienced either adding the LPS later nor hearing the 20/20 with its regular wall warts. If your LPS is new give it around 200hrs before you come to any conclusions. My combo took time to break in. It sounds very good now, very balanced top to bottom. 

@audphile1 that’s my thinking but in searching various forums I didn’t get the idea others experienced this. It’s been plugged in for 36 hours-ish so I’ll keep on it. Love what it’s done to the upper mids and highs so far.

With about 40hrs on it cook it for another week and it should be alright. 

@audphile1  thanks I will definitely do that. I also went ahead and changed the cart load to 475ohms which, with the LPS sounds better. 

I have the 20/20.  Forgive my ignorance. What’s an LPS?

@gochurchgo Nice! Do revisit the settings after the break in. For me, while my 20/20 with LPS was going thru break in, 100ohm sounded best. However after the break in, 200ohm is where I’m at and prefer it to 100ohm (thanks to @rvpiano for posting his thoughts on switching from 100ohm to 200ohm which encouraged me to revisit the settings). We both use Hana ML though.

Maybe you need to let the 20/20 burn in for a few good months or have a look at the changing the power suply  I  have been using the fantastic Sutherland hubble battery powered phono stage no bleaching mids or thin highs. If you can find one that is the way to go with regards playing vinyl records stay away from the unforgiving mains supply ! 

I added my LPS after owning the 20/20 for several months and noticed very little difference in sound- 

although i am sure if i put the wall warts back in it would be noticeable. 

@avanti1960  interesting as your resounding approval swayed me to take the plunge. 

@gochurchgo any improvement with additional time on the unit?

@audphile1  have not spun anything as we prep for our thanksgiving tradition (7 turkeys this year!)

I’m hoping Black Friday will give me time to relax and spin some sides.
