Squeezebox replay gain ?

Is there any playback degradation when the automatic replay gain adjustments are activated? Any reason not to use them? It is a convenient feature when playing multiple albums or playlists but i am most interested in the highest possible fidelity.

Yes. The ultimate setup should be as follows:
Replay Gain – (off)
Turn on Audio – (always on)
Crossfade –( none)
Smart Crossfade – (none)
Crossfade Duration – (0)
Volume Control – (100% fixed)
Volume Adjustment – (none)
