Project TT this way or Project TT that way

Hello All,

I am at wits end as to what to do. I really wish you can demo stuff at home for a week with what ever config you want but as you know we don’t live in a perfect world so lets move on.

Maybe some of you can provide some insight and or hypothesis comparison on the following TT Setups. Keep in mind Budget is 1500 for a new TT but I am starting with these scenarios.

Project 2 Xperience Classic with stock Sumiko Blue Point 2

or

Project Xpression 3 with an Ortofon 2M Black

I am not completely attached to Project but this will be my last source upgrade for a very long time and 1500 is all I want to spend.

Get a good used Xpression for as little money as you can and save for a nice upgrade

I went from an Xpression I to a VPI HW-19 mk for about 900.00

amazing difference.
I went from Xpression to Nottingham Spacedeck/Spacearm. It was $1300 used. In any case, I would get a better table/arm and more modest cartridge than the other way around.
Ortofon black costs almost as much as Xpression. Cartridge is easier to upgrade unless we are talking very expensive cartridges.
Get a used TT from a long time 'Gonner w/great feedback. You'll get a lot more bang for your buck, and good TT's have a long life.
If you are just comparing the two Pro-ject tables go with the 2 Xperience Classic it is hands down the better of the two.
Inna's advice is very good, get a better table with modest cart and upgrade cart later.
Between those two I would get the Xperience Classic, it's a better table with a superior arm. A certain online store (not sure if I'm allowed to give the name) has all three finishes for $1199 right now, there is also a 10% off code you can use - PM me for details.
