Passive Sub Woofer connections ??

Hi

My 3rd system has a passive sub.

The NHT sub has a pair of right/left channels.....in/out.(8 speaker terminals)

No provission for coax.

Question:

Should I go 4-wires from my amp to my sub, then 4-wires from the sub to the speakers.

OR

4-direct wires from my amp to my apeakers, and 4-direct wires from my amp to my sub(sharing the speaker terminals on my amp with both the speakers and sub)
