one box solution?

From what I read the general consensus for best sound quality was roon + HQplayer + core (to be kept in another room!) to  renderer + power supply to additional signal enhancers to DAC.  A few weeks later it's just pick up a one box server, software included.   In concept, is this accurate?   I was just going to pay for a HQplayer and though the license alone is 20% the cost of the cheapest Innuos.

I'm sticking with my 1997 Marantz CD67 player! Truly excellent! I will put it up against any of today's expensive transports/DACs! One box to rule them all ...

Roon is essentially a browser. By itself, it doesn’t have anything to do with sound quality.

I’m not sure what you mean by "signal enhancers" but I don’t think there’s any consensus on that, either.

You surely don't get out much. There are dozens of DACs now that would have been considered world class 20 years ago. I'd say it wouldn't take more than a low tier converter being fed by a good streamer to best that Marantz.
