I first learned of Robert Earl Keene through a song he wrote that I have on a Joe Ely CD. That song "The Road Goes On Forever (& The Party Never Ends) is quite profound IMO.

The OP song is typical country....some may call it outlaw country. As for the poison, it used to be kept for medicinal purposes in every house in the land.

As long as there is some Athletic or Big Drop parties are good. Especially when the birthday boy gets relocated to the hoosegow for being an obnoxious drunk.
