Klipsch Heresy Is compared to IIIs. Thanks for opinions.

Hello Gentlemen,

since I stupidly sold my Heresy IIIs for arguable reasons, I have been thinking of buying some again. Now I can have a beautiful, original pair of Is from 1984 for what looks like a fair price. I have never heard the first series; does anyone have first hand impressions of the differences?

Thanks

Bill,

thanks. My IIIs were much better than I ever suspected by just reading and listening to hearsay. Is seem to be priced according to status and age also, IIIs are found as NOS at acceptable prices.

Max,

I have H1, H2 and have heard H3.  IMO, each progression is a tad better.  Good thing about any of the versions is that unless you pay an elevated price for them, you could re-coupe what you paid if they do not rock your world.

Thanks. Mine didn't sound too bright at all, and our living room doesn't favor brightness. I am very tempted to buy these Is anyway.

An 87 year old friend bought a beautiful pair of the first variety of Heresey's, did some rewiring on them, and they sounded beautiful, very enjoyable to listen to.

He said when he first got them, they sounded too bright, but whatever he did to them made them made them sound great.
