Funny you say sound engineer. I worked with a lot of Engineers. I met a couple of sound engineers on a Los Vegas job sight. They knew very little about speakers manufactures. They sure knew how to move sound around in that town. People could sleep in one part of a hotel, Lady Gaga blaring in another part and nobody outside hears any of it..
Not to mention the whole town sets in a dried lake bed of natures concrete (Caliche). I had to keep generators going a couple of time behind shows demanding good clean Cat power. Electronic shows were real picky. They were very quiet but they could tear you up working inside the van. Outside quiet as a mouse, LESS the 6-12hz bump. It will actually bust up the concrete pads..
I've seen them loose isolation on either end of a balanced main shaft and self destruct.

I use to have a chamber here that would hit 10hz and 135+db no sweat. I've left more than one person with a nosebleed and not able to breath. KIDS..
I like subs, I don't like sub frequencies from them everywhere in my house though.
