How much to pay for a Record ?

$37100 Record

Wow, this guy sure takes his record collection very serious.

He might play it once on a very carefully set up high quality turntable to record it to tape and a digital file. He'll probably be paid well to play it. Collectors are always looking for better sounding copies of these old blues recordings.

Fortunes can be made or lost in rare collectables. It's a tricky business. But watch Antiques Roadshow sometime (my wife likes it). A lot of people find out that an old painting that grandma had hanging in the hallway or an old piece of furniture that's been out in the garage is worth $25,000.
Would he dare to actually play it and risk depreciating the value?

Smart collectors know what to buy, when to buy and when if ever to sell. I'm not that smart when it comes to these things, so I have no clue what the darn thing might be worth someday. Might outperform the Dow long term. Who knows?

I've never payed over $20 for any single record taht I can ever recall. Boring!!!!!
Feelings of self inadequacy are displayed through constant negative remarks toward others. Some offenders self rationalize that they are only being humorous. Sad
Judy,

Back with your usual pessimistic, degrading and anything but useful demeanor.

YUK! to use one of your favorite terms.

To everyone else, Good Listening

No different than some car guy paying 20 grand for a rust bucket '32 Ford. If ya wanna play ya gotsta pay!!!!!
Waste of money. He could have bought a pretty nice set of cables for that much.
