Any Nagra Classic Amp or Classic Preamp owners out there willing to share their feedback

I have heard the Nagra HD amps w/Classic Preamp v. AR Ref 160S w/Ref 6SE and the Nagra was much better in all ways. They were driving a pair of Wilson Benesch ACT One EVO speakers. This was at a friend's home when he was making a purchasing decision.

Maybe your local Nagra dealer would let you do the same.

i have a nagra classic preamp paired with a pair of nagra VPA monblocks.  I also have a classic amp for no particular reason. I will say that adding the factory i/0 transformers for true balanced sound made a significant change in soundstage. I did this on advice of dealer AFTER I had used the preamp for awhile. Speakers are Devore O96

Sorry for the thread drift but transformers allow for XLR's but do not provide true balanced circuitry.

I have the different idea, you can keep audio research power amplifier and swap out audio research ref 6se. For me, that is a good plan finally. For you, you can just listen several days to see if you are satisfied with the combo.

Most of them, audio research made a very good power amplifier and their pre amplifier is somehow exaggerated in some way.
