AMPLIFIER HELP

I AM LOOKING FOR THE BEST SOLID STATE AMPLIFIER FOR KLIPSCH HERESY 3 AND OPPO BDP83 ALL SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I have a set of Heresys in my second system and they do sound best with a tube amp. But if you want solid state I would recommend the Forte Model 4A or any of the early Pass Labs lower power class A amps (Aleph series). The First Watt stuff also works extremely well with the heresys. You can also look for the DIY clone of the First Watt or early Pass Labs Aleph series stuff if money is a consideration. You can find those amps here on Audiogon quite often. With heresys you must be careful not to get a bright sounding amp, they can rip your head off with the wrong amp? The top end can be harsh. The best wire with the heresys is Kimber cable 8tc the new clear.
To get good advice from the chat, what preamp are you
using? How much power do you think you need?

LOOK AT PLINIUS THEIR INTERGRATED 9200 HAS A LOT OF PUNCH
AND IF YOU WANT TO GO SEPERATES THE M-8 PRE AMP AND SA100 OR SA 102 WILL BLOW YOU AWAY. IT WILL GIVE A GOOD FULL RANGE OF SOUND. ONCE YOU HERE THE AMP THOUGHT YOU WILL BE LOOKING TO GET A DIFFERANT PAIR OF SPEAKERS
Look at some of the vintage Marantz mono block Class A units. I drove some k-horns with these and was very pleased.
Marantz integrateds usually match well with Klipsch. Take a listen to either the PM5004 (only about $450) or the PM8004. I've driven 2 pairs of Heresys with the 5004 and was quite pleased and now drive a pair of Cornwalls with it. Low power and not much snob appeal, but Hereseys don't need much power. Good luck.
THANX FOR THE RESPONSES,I WOULD LIKE SOMETHING NO MORE THAN ABOUT 1500.00,ALSO SUGGESTIONS ON A GOOD PRE AMP I LISTEN TO MOSTLY ROCK.RIGHT NOW I AM USING AN NAD C370 INTEGRATED AND NOT VERY HAPPY,SOUNDS LIFELESS AND DULL.THE HERESYS ARE VERY EFFECIENT DONT THINK I NEED ALOT OF POWER BUT WANT GOOD QUALITY WATTS.
Curiousgeorge,
A Hafler Transnova 9300 does very well with the Heresys and sells used for less than $400.The 9500 or 9505 will drive almost anything(probably overkill for the Heresys)and should set you back between $600 or $700.My favorite SS amp is the Muse model 160 and would cost about the same as a 9500(6-700 dollars). An Aragon 8008 or 8008BB(also overkill) would be less than $1000.You may be able to pick up a Plinius SA 100 mk.3 for around $1500.
