Interconnects for TT
Well, you bought them already... I use Anti-Cables on my Superscoutmaster and I love them.
Tonearms without anti-skate, damage to records?
VPI recommends NO anti-skate. Anti-scate is a crapshoot, and is NEVER right. It depends on the loudness being tracked (which constantly is changing), shape of stylus, VTA, and numerous other conditions. No antiskate is fine. Use your cartridge at ...
Where to start with vinyl
Wrong... High output cartridges are much easier to deal with. Its really a tradeoff. Yes you might get very slightly more detail with a low output, because of the fewer windings on the coil, however rf, hum, noisy power, etc. can and usually does ...
Interconnects for TT
Turntable interconnects are troublesom. Many times they have to be grounded, and shielded. This depends on the table and the cartridge that you are using. High output cartridges are far less critical than low output ones. They should not be digita...
SME 20/2 Faulty Silicon Oil Plunger
Send it back to the importer. If any of that stuff got into the bearings, or other places it shouldn't be, you are looking for trouble. The stuff will attract dirt like a manget.
What determines the volume of a Turntable?
Also, the recording itself is variable in that some are recorded more softly/loudly than others, and the speed of the record too has an effect. 45's are louder than 33's
Analysis Plus Oval 9 & Vandersteen 3As
Richard V has definite opinions on bi-wiring. If you go to his site, he explains that to benefit from biwiring, you must have seperate wires. DO NOT use one jacketed cable - you might as well not biwire. I have Vandersteen 5A's and am using the ve...

noise problem with cable
Why in the world would you have a balanced to Single ended adapter. You loose LOTS from this configuration
How do YOU set VTF on your Rega arm??
I don't have a 300 now to check, but I can't believe that on max, the spring is "Locked" down. If it were, it couldn't function as a spring. Perhaps the resonant frequency is changed and if it is, it would change for the higher which is not good a...
Maple or Granite
I use shelves of Ultam. Its very expensive, but the best I have heard.
Cartridges & Sensitivity to VTF
I have a Benz Ebony and a VPI Nordost arm. I have determined that there is not much difference at all settings except that there is more air - bloom around the instruments at the best setting. Ive read that you adjust by listening to the bass, but...
How do YOU set VTF on your Rega arm??
I agree that the Expressimo counterweight does make a huge difference. If you want an even bigger difference, get the P25 (or any Rega) off of those rubber feet. You can put Cardas blocks, etc. under the table, letting the blocks support the outer...
Power Cords and Power Conditioner, How to arrange?
Power conditioners always degrade my system. I stay away from them. Richard Grey is the worst.
BAT + VR 4 JR = ?
Cardas and Purist are garbage. Anti-Calbes are the way to go. They have a money back guarantee. At least audtion them.
