Heard the B&W N804d3s ...
@shadorne ... that's exactly what I intend to do for now. I just want a little "oomph" in the bottom end, that's all. I really like the sound of the N804s. The 804d3s are no slouches, trust me, and they are a bit of a different flavor; however, to...

Yep, lowrider. You nailed it.

The sound is quite 3D now. There's width, height and depth, if that makes any sense. Truly, a remarkable thing to experience in my own listening room.
What to do with audio Magazines
I usually keep the Buyer's Guide issues throughout the year for reference purposes. Otherwise, I toss 'em after I've finished reading them.

Will do. It should arrive early next week.

Yes, the musicians are positioned in the correct places, and vocals come out dead center. So, I don't think the speakers are out of phase. I believe I may have found an audiophile unicorn.

Given that the B&Ws have aluminum tweeters, I wanted to compensate for that by a different type of material. Hopefully, it will be fine.

Yep. Ordered a Rhythmik L12, which is a sealed unit. Hope it does the trick.
Upgrade my MD 102 Tuner?
The tuner only has inputs for a 75Ohm antenna, there are no 300 Ohm antenna terminals. I'm using a standard 75Ohm dipole "T" antenna.  If you have any specific suggestion for antennae that will work well with this unit, I'm all ears.  Thanks.

@wlutke ... Thanks for the suggestion. I’m kind of stuck in this converted bedroom as all other available space is taken up. So, I will try the sub since the lowest FR of the N804s is 45Hz +/- 2dB, which is a bit lean even when compared to some mo...

Given the size of my room, 9x10x8, the 800N or 802D2 are way too big for the space. In the current line-up, I would have to look at either the 804 or 805.

I can't use an outdoor antenna. A powered antenna doesn't work too well, either. So, it's just a standard, 75 ohm indoor antenna. The unit does not have the XM radio feature ... quite frankly, I wish there were some kind of module I could hook up ...
A recent thread about speaker/floor isolation
I'm a big fan of "floating" the speakers. I had Eden Sound make me two Terrastone plinths for my B&Ws. The sound is far superior to coupling with spikes.
Coupling or Decoupling speakers?
I had Eden Sound make some Terrastone plinths to put under my B&Ws. "Floating" the speaker achieves much better sound than the spikes, IMHO.

@ mb1audio ... My speakers used to be set up in dining room/living room combination in my old condo. It was the same issue back then ... I think the fact that the N804s lowest frequency response is 42 -45 Hz is the problem for me. While the bass i...
