Distinctly Digital Forever?
I do think there are DACs that can get you where you want to go. But one thing I've not seen mentioned is the signal chain from your internet provider to your DAC or streamer. You can find abundant SQ upgrades by employing something like an Uptone...
Network optimization for serious streamers
@willgolf  Hey Will, The recommendations you are getting from @lalitk are solid. I realize you are functionally blind, but if possible, take a look at lalitk's system. It is very dialed in and thought out. Network cables are certainly important...
Curious to know your streaming and dac set up and the best recommended streamer under $15k
@willgolf  I really appreciate your story and you telling it. Regards
Curious to know your streaming and dac set up and the best recommended streamer under $15k
@willgolf  I've seen the thread over on WBF and am curious how you came to your conclusion on LDMS? I remember you were quite smitten with Laufer Teknik but now have Lucas Audio. Would you share some of your thoughts on the LDMS? Thanks
Grimm MU1 Streamer - Really "The Best"?
Better get that autocorrect for "Tambaqui" fixed as I see you writing a lot about it in the future!

@singingg  Fantastic summation of your 4-year journey. I've got to read this again for sure. You mentioned the Gigafoil. I'm not understanding if you tried it and if you did, is it still in the system or did you find that it was better without i...
Network optimization for serious streamers
@singingg  Well then, I guess we both stumbled onto the directionality thing by sheer chance. I'm glad I read this thread. System update. It is sounding sublime - and now the audiophile terms. The noise floor has dropped considerably and so you ...
Network optimization for serious streamers
@singingg  So after reading your comments on Network cable and the ATT Router/ONT cable, I decided to use a spare Supra Cat8+ between the ONT and Router. Once the 8+ was in, the sound was always, but only, a little better than the stock ATT-suppl...
Grimm MU1 Streamer - Really "The Best"?
Hey @grannyring  I'd like to try that so I'm wondering, how do you bypass or turn off LEDs? I'm not aware of how to do so. I guess this has to do with you being a DIY guy and may be above my skill level.
Lumin X1 and Upgraded DC umbilical cord for power supply.
I was at one point interested in the X1 so I know that "gleeds" here and on WBF is the guy that is the Westminster Labs dealer. He has a write up over on WBF, but I assume you are already familiar with it.

I've read that LEDs are noisy and think it was over on AS. Everything matters for sure.   @fastfreight  I started using the LinkUp 8 Network cable in 2021. I put it in my system one 1M section at a time. Each time I did, the system just got bet...
Grimm MU1 Streamer - Really "The Best"?
@arafiq  For clarity, this is the LinkUp 8 I use, it is Yellow cable rather than black. I am unsure if they are exactly the same but they appear so based on the description. -  Amazon.com: LINKUP - [GHMT & DSX8000 Certified Cat8 Ethernet Pat...
Grimm MU1 Streamer - Really "The Best"?
@arafiq  I can answer that for you. LinkUp 8 handily beats the Supra Cat8+ in my system. My entire chain is LinkUp 8 with the exception of a Supra 8+ from ONT to Router. I may go to LinkUp 8 on that connection as well in the future. The great thi...
Grimm MU1 Streamer - Really "The Best"?
@rockrider  I cannot answer your question from experience, but I've read many accounts of those who are streaming files from hard drives have experienced better sound quality with improved Network cables and switches. I don't understand why, but ...
Grimm MU1 Streamer - Really "The Best"?
@lalitk  @rockrider  "What switch did you try? The N20 LAN is 2x isolated so a subpar switch probably do more harm than good :-)" The other question is "did you let the SoTM switch burn in?" It may need several+ weeks to get there, maybe even mo...
