Acoustic Zen Matrix II between X250 & X preamp & AZ Silver Ref II from CDP to preamp, all XLR, was the best combo I found with my rig, tried others that were more $$$$.

Ditto on Bring the Family and Slow Turning. A few years ago there was a special on TV, I believe it was VH1, which paired John Hiatt & Matthew Sweet that was quite hot.Guy Clark, Old No. 1 still pleases every time.

New Thiel 2.4's. After months of breaking them in with all the 'right' components backing them, I bailed. On less than perfect material they were just too harsh & revealing. The treble energy always had me reaching for the volume knob or liste...

I used to run a Classe CA200 (newer version with heat sinks on the sides) w/ SL-3's with great results. I remember someone here saying that ML recommended Classe as well.

I had a pair of Cornwalls in the 70's, then Chorus I's later matched with a Carver M4.0t Silver Seven transfer function amp & it was truly great to my ears. Moved on but still love em.....

Speakers to hang on to for LIFE
Talon Raven-C picked up used here on A'gon from a fine gentleman. Been through more speakers than I care to admit. In my setup they absolutely smoke. They'll be with me a long time.
