Kuzma Stabi S and 4point? overkill?
I've often wondered that. Obviously the table is important, but how important is it compared or the arm/cartridge? Has anyone anywhere run a test like this? Great arms and cartridges on decent tables? Would be interesting I imagine.
Decware - any substance here?
Well I suppose I'm just too curious. Sooner or later I'll pick up a Torii and report back.
Sorry, a question about the Sony SCDXA5400ES.
Fair enough Metralla, your response actually helps.Blue Circle SBT/SBMHarbeth SHL-5
Sorry, a question about the Sony SCDXA5400ES.
... I suppose I'm not asking whether or not this is a giant killer or anything like that, I'm specifically looking for a CD player, and have a limited price range which the Sony SCD-XA5400ES fits into nicely. If there are other players which can c...
Sorry, a question about the Sony SCDXA5400ES.
Yea I've seen, but it's often just one person ranting against another. One for, the other against. Simply, I'd like a broad perspective from those who've heard it, can another CD player under $2000, that they can name, match it? And I do apologize...
Amplifier progression and change
No bubbles to burst here. It will only help with my decisions. It's difficult to get out and audition amps out there, so research is my main source. Yours and any other input is very appreciated!
Moving up the Reynaud line, opinions please...
Well, Chas, I suppose I am, sort of, but am a bit concerned about the possibility of taking a sideways step. I don't really have time to get out and audition speakers, and I prefer to stick with things for a bit, so I'd like to find a speaker that...
How much power is to much power?
Great info here everyone. I think I know what direction to take... the good thing about buying used is I can always resell without taking much of a loss. I'll update you.Joe
How much power is to much power?
Reynaud Twin Signatures, will possibly upgrade to Reynaud Offrande in the not to distant future. The amps in question are vintage Accuphase c-200/p-200.
How much power is to much power?
I listen to primarily classical (from piano to orchestral) and rock. My room is a loft, about 700sf with high ceilings and 30 feet of windows, it's definitely a live room. I've a few acoustical treatments, but nothing major (nor do I want more). S...
Where next after Eico HF-12's?
Basically, something that does what the Eico does, only better.
Where next after Eico HF-12's?
That's a fair response Frank. A musical connection is the most important aspect for me (I'm a classical pianist). That said, I suppose I really like my system, but I wonder how much better it can get. I'd kind of like something similar in sound, s...
Can anything beat Vintage Amps for the $$$?
Larry, that is an extremely interesting article. It certainly brings up another common debate: tubes vs. S.S. One must admit, those studies certainly don't make S.S. look good.Joe
Can anything beat Vintage Amps for the $$$?
Yes Rich, I'd say at least 25 years. So far I am a bit suprised by your responses. I have previously searched many forums here, and on audioasylum. I 've read numerous claims, stating that amps such as the Scott 299 or Eico HF81 can not be touched...
